What a fun way to bring Prosperity into your home!
"Prosperity Hens," also called "Bird Bell Totas”
Prosperity Hens are a sign of abundance and the tradition started in India thousands of years ago. Owning a flock of hens indicated that you were prosperous. At some point women started stitching them using bright scraps and beads. Traditionally they are placed inside a doorway or window to invite good fortune into the home.
When I look at mine, I am reminded that I have so much to be grateful for.
Each Prosperity Hen Strand has 20 Hens and will create a 5’ long strand. If you prefer, you can break that into two strands of 10 hens each.
Kit included - choice of yo-yo’s or wool hearts in between the Hens. Please note, the beads in the kits may not be the exact ones shown in the photos. The class includes a ball of Valdani Perle 8. The project used a variety of floss, so please bring your stash to pull from as well.
*All Kits may vary slightly. Extra kits will be available for purchase after the class.
For all Classes **Each person should bring a sharp small embroidery scissors and straight pins. Pin cushion is optional. You should also bring any embroidery floss you have in your stash.
